Technology Uses in Education

This is an online course designed to help candidates fulfill their Level II credential requirement (Designated Subjects & Education Specialist). It includes eight online modules addressing the following topics:

  • Role of technology in education
  • Designing effective activities with technology
  • Education and the Internet
  • Monitoring student progress with technology
  • Information literacy
  • Supporting all learners with technology

A mandatory orientation meeting will cover course requirements and provide an introduction to the online environment. Online content will be delivered weekly from February 1 through March 31. Students must have access to a Windows or Macintosh computer that is capable of Internet communication. 2 units are provided and an additional fee will be required through Humboldt State University.


Important registration information
Registration for this class is a two-step process.

Step 1: Register for this mandatory orientation meeting by registering for the online orientation class as it pertains to your credential. This class is free for North Coast Designated Subjects Program participants & North Coast Education Specialist Level II Program participants and $100 for all others.

Step 2: The second step is to accept the Canvas Course invite. This will link you to the required coursework. If you have any questions, contact the NCTIP office at (707) 524-2818.
