CURR 254 (MS) Curriculum & Instruction: Visual & Performing Arts

This course builds upon CURR 114 Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment. Using the California Framework for the Visual and Performing Arts (VAPA) and the VAPA standards, this course prepares interns to teach the VAPA standards as discrete content and how to integrate the VAPA standards with other content standards to making learning more active and engaging. Interns learn how to integrate the visual and performing arts into various curricular areas and explore the California Framework for the Visual & Performing Arts. Interns examine to importance of visual and performing arts to learning and investigate current research on the importance and purpose of visual and performing arts in teaching and learning.
