CURR 240 (SS) Instructional Strategies for Secondary Education

Candidates focus on the theoretical and practical aspects of teaching that are effective with secondary students. This is an introductory course that prepares candidates for the CURR 245 Content Specific Instruction courses. Candidates explore and practice a variety of techniques and strategies for effective instruction, including critical thinking skills, problem-based learning, and grouping strategies. Instructional approaches and assessment procedures are emphasized in order to ensure the candidate’s ability to develop, deliver, integrate and assess their lessons’ effectiveness based on student learning. This course is available to participants who have met Be A Teacher Pre-Service and Intern Program prerequisites. (PBS).
